Poor UC students are deprived of some of their Christmas decorations

Four out of the ten University campuses have decided to not spend public funds to decorate the homes of their respective chancellors.  Such prudence in helping dig the state out of its financial hole.

But why were public dollars ever being used this way?  And why are public funds being used today for the other six campuses?  Just another example of public spending waste and a lack of priorities - even if we had a strong economy.
